Teaching English in the local schools

One of the most exciting opportunities in this ministry is the ability to teach the Bible in local schools in Honduras. We are developing an English curriculum that uses Bible-based songs and stories to teach language skills. While English instruction opens the door, our true purpose is to share biblical truth and the love of Jesus with children in a meaningful and age-appropriate way.

Because school is held only in the mornings in our village, English teachers will also serve in our Activity Center during the afternoons. There, they will lead Bible studies and engage children through activities that build strong relationships and reflect Christ’s love. Each teacher will serve according to their unique gifts and creativity, using available resources such as crafts, sports, games, music, library time, computer classes, and more—sharing the love of Jesus through both words and actions.

The program offers flexible commitment options, ranging from 2 months to 5 years, allowing participants to choose the length of their involvement. Participants will live with a local host family, providing a unique and immersive cultural experience while fostering deeper connections within the community. While Spanish fluency is not required, a willingness to learn the language is essential to effectively engage with the local culture and those being served. Additionally, assistance is available to help raise the necessary financial support to participate in the program, ensuring that the opportunity is accessible to those with a heart for this ministry.

This program offers a unique opportunity to impact the lives of children, deepen their understanding of the Bible, and serve the community through education and discipleship. Through this ministry, we aim to demonstrate the love of Christ in practical, everyday ways, making a lasting impact on the children and families we serve.
